Auditing

We are familiar with UK and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and UK and US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and we conduct our audits and report in accordance therewith.  We also conduct our audits and report in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) for accounts prepared in accordance with International Accounting Standards (IASs), National Accounting Standards or another authoritative and comprehensive financial reporting framework.  

We are also the only U.K. Registered Auditors in Ethiopia, i.e. authorised to audit U.K. Companies, Banks and Charities accounts for UK statutory purposes. We are also recognised independent auditors of the Ethiopian Commodities Exchange and a category ‘A’ Audit Firm by the Office of the Auditor General. 

We are licensed by the Region 14 Trade Bureau in Addis Ababa as an Ethiopian practice and all staff except A. A. Bromhead are Ethiopians.  We have operated since 1977, and have some forty five Ethiopian nationals as professional audit and consultancy staff, consisting of managers, all university graduates majoring in accounting, eleven of whom are graduates of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).  Most have worked in senior managerial and finance and audit positions. A further twenty one are taking United Kingdom ACCA examinations at present and there are six support staff.
